Insurance Claim Procedure

St. Paul's Court -Insurance Claim Procedure

The company's building insurance is with AVIVA. The process to make a claim on the buildings' insurance has changed recently and a procedure to allow leaseholders to make a claim has been amended.

The insurer's approved procedure is as follows:

  • Call AVIVA Claims Clubline on  0845 302 8424 (out of office hours emergency Tel: 0500 114 477) and list to them the details of the claim, viz.

    1. Policy number -23835326CBT
    2. Policy name -St Paul's Court Ltd
    3. Name of leaseholder reporting claim
    4. Address where incident took place
    5. Contact telephone number
    6. Date of incident
    7. Cause of incident
    8. If the problem has been rectified, e.g., a leak been stopped
    9. If there is any other policy that covers this claim

·        AVIVA will provide you with an incident number and will notify you later of the claim reference number and the name of the appointed company who will be handling your claim.

Improveline is usually the appointed company for this area and they will call you direct to arrange an appointment to visit and assess whether the claim is valid. They will also provide a quotation to AVIVA to re-instate.

  • If the claim is approved, Improveline will write to you requesting approval of the re-instatement specification. In this respect, you are authorised to sign the form since you are in the best position to judge whether the specification is accurate or not.

Improveline will also request the £250 excess charge and we should remind you that the amendment to the fifth schedule states:

12. To pay such policy excess as may be incurred by each and every claim bythe lessee on the Residential Building Insurance Policy unless it is agreed with the Management Company that the loss or damage for which the claim was made was not the fault of the claimant or of any other leaseholder.

Of course, Where the claim concerns damage which is the responsibility of the management company the excess payment will be refunded by the management company upon presentation of supporting documentation.

  • To enquire about any claim that is being processed, call 01603 842466 quoting the claim reference number. DO NOT USE THIS NUMBER TO REPORT A CLAIM,
